spending time exploring and researching such a
fascinating subject. For the past two years, she

spread her interest in science to children by engaging
them fun learning experiences that spark their
curiosity. She says, "I'm passionate about

in their events such as the "Sciencepalooza"-- where
she has the experience of watching kids enjoy and
interact with science. She found out about ScienceDays
and thought it would be great to promote it around the
area elementary schools, to help create an early
attachment to science. Science is especially important
to Aparna, and she aspires to become a pediatric
neurosurgeon. She has head-coached and
coordinated the Slauson Middle School Science Olympiad
Team for the 2006-2007 scholastic year. In
addition, volunteering with the Red Cross put her in

like BAT (Basic Aid Training) Instruction and other
First Aid Safety. She is a participant in the
Youth Empowerment Project-- she helps with the Fight
AIDS in Africa Project and the Generation Vote
Campaign. Also, Aparna is the Founder and
